In July 2020 the draft Building Safety Bill introduced the reforms required in the construction industry based of the concerns of Dame Judith Hackitt in the “Building A Safer Future” report.

By April 2022 the Building Safety Bill received Royal Assent thus becoming the BSA and law.

Secondary legislation followed in August 2023, and by October 2023, the full implementation of the BSA came into force.
